Rev. Soughers received her Masters of
Divinity, Cum Laude, from Virginia Theological Seminary, located in
Alexandria, Virginia, in 1990. She also holds an M.A. in Biochemistry from
Rice University in Houston, Texas, and a B.S. in Biology with honors
from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro,
New Mexico. She has furthered her theological education with courses from
the Shalem Institute, the Alban Institute, New Directions Northeast,
the College of Preachers, and St. George’s College, Jerusalem. Prior
to coming to Trinity in March of 2005 Rev. Soughers was Rector at Trinity Church in Portland,
Connecticut. Before that she served as Lead Rector for the Tri-County Cluster
(Diocese of Central New York) from 1995-2000, as Associate Rector
for the Tri-County Cluster from 1992-1995, and as Assistant Rector
for All Saints Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, from
1990-1992.
