The
Knitting Ministry at Trinity Church has been a very joyful and
rewarding way to enter into God’s service and to minister to others.
Together, we knit prayer shawls, which are then blessed and distributed
to those in need of comfort. Not only have we created something that is
very beautiful, but a group of women have knit themselves together who
might not have otherwise had the opportunity. In 2002,
approximately 25 prayer shawls had been hand knit by Trinity
Parishioners and, after being blessed by a priest during a service,
were delivered by a member of the group to someone who needs to be
comforted in one way or another.
We
meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month in
the Vestry Room from 9-11 AM. All are welcome. We encourage
anyone to join us -- even if you do not knit but would like to learn
from one of us, or if you would just like to come and chat and have a
cup of tea. For more information about the knitting ministry, contact
Frankie Williams or Emily Mosher. |
