On Saturday morning April 26, 2003 a group of organists
and organ enthusiasts from the Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter of
the American Guild of Organists started their annual "organ
crawl" at Trinity. The following article appeared in the Chapter's
May newsletter (used by permission):
"Our Organ Tour featured a region of our
chapter that has seldom been visited. A band of intrepid organ
enthusiasts braved the downpour and followed the complicated route
perfectly. At Trinity Episcopal Church, Wrentham, Lorna Russell,
Trinity organist played works of Bach, Brahms, Bohm, Stearns, and
Willan on the c. 1825 Goodrich altered by Simmons and Willcox in 1860,
rebuilt by Hutchings-Plaisted, 1890, altered by Hutchings 1912, rebuilt
by Andover 1968. It was a stunning program delivered perfectly on that
instrument. I was impressed with the organ’s versatility and the
Stearns “Benediction” from his Triptych was luscious!" |
