Details of Programs

The Beloved Disciple: Icon of Intimacy with Christ: Lenten Quiet Evening led by Br. David Vryhof, SSJE on Friday, March 14th. In a series of brief meditations, we will be introduced to the figure of the “Beloved Disciple,” the unnamed figure who appears only in the Gospel of John, where he is referred to as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” We will look at his role in that gospel and in the community out of which the gospel was written, and reflect on ways in which this Beloved Disciple is an ‘icon’ of the kind of intimacy with Christ that is offered to each of us.
We will begin with a soup supper at 6:00 end with Compline at 9:00. Come draw closer to God. To RSVP, call 508-384-3958 or email: spirituallife@trinitywrentham.org. Free will offering.

Presenter:
Br. David Vryhof, SSJE is a priest and brother of the Society of St. John the Evangelist, a religious order for men in the Episcopal Church with a monastery in Cambridge (MA) and a retreat house in West Newbury (MA).  Currently he serves as the Assistant Superior of the community. Spiritual Direction 101 - What is Spiritual Direction really like? Come and see! On Sunday, April 27th, 4:00-5:30, we will bring together a spiritual director and directee who have never met.
